Rolling Admissions

This time of year we receive many phone calls concerning Early Action/Early Decision. It is extremely important to remember that we have neither, we are Rolling Admissions. This means that as soon as your application comes into our office and we have all the necessary documentation to make it complete, we will go a head and read it and make a decision. We encourage students to apply as soon as their first marking period grades are posted during their senior year. We will start reading applications during the first week of December, I know that this is approaching very fast. This is a very exciting time for us because it means that all counselors are back  in the office after a long but busy travel season. There are 6 of us who will gather in a conference room and start reading and discussing applications. We do not read by territory, so please do not call asking to speak to a counselor who reads for the state you live in, it could be any of us. Please do not call asking the status of your application. Once you apply you will receive a WebAdvisor account letter, this will allow you to gain access to the status of your application. Most importantly be patient, it generally takes us 4-6 weeks to notify you of our decision.

FAQ: Interviews

I think that it is time that I start a Frequently Asked Questions part of the blog. One question that we hear over and over again is “do you offer interviews”? We do NOT offer prospective students the opportunity to interview with an admissions counselor. When a prospective student visits campus and attends one of our overviews they will have a chance to ask questions after the program is over. In addition, if a student needs to explain a circumstance they have encountered  the essay section of the application states this, ”Please feel free to provide an additional statement if there are special circunstances you would like the Admissions Committee to be aware of”.  So remember, we do not offer interviews.

Open House

On Sunday, October 28 we had our one and only Fall Open house. Over 900 prospective students and families visited Keene State to meet with faculty, speak with student services departments and tour our beautiful campus.  We were so excited to see such a large turnout of visitors. If you still have not had a chance to visit campus you can view our tour dates for the remainder of the semester here. Please be sure to sign up using the on-line reservation form.  We will see you on campus soon.

Welcome to the Admissions Blog

Welcome to our blog! This blog is maintained by the Admissions Office. The main contributor is me, Sasha Watt, one of the counselors in the office.  By writing this blog I hope to give you an inside look at admissions and the Keene State College community. Please check back often as I will post any news or updates that happen here in the office. Also, please feel free to add comments, ask questions or simply say hello. I hope you are having a successful senior year. Talk to you soon!
