Peter, I do think the English language should be apart of the reform package for immigrants to live and work here.Job opportunities would be much easier for an individual to earn a greater job and would be beneficial in enticing family members to come to America and following new guidelines, and maybe give them a head start to learning the language.

It is interesting to learn why people choose the tattoos and or body piercings. It would be more interesting to see if their thoughts are the same in 25 years.

And what are some more changes ahead? Do you see these as positive, negative, or neither? When you look at all the factors together it's striking to see the modern tendency to patterns to celebrate and privilege youth in US culture.

Have you read the Glass Castle? It's a memoir that is about a girl growing up in poverty. Sounds like you might be interested in it too. This looks like a good story. Thanks for sharing!

People have strong feelings about this topic. I worry about the age at which kids are getting involved in video games and how it takes their attention away from other social activites. I think the research you cited is on to something important - if not the violence in the games, the isolation may be a problem.

I think this is a very important article that all young teens should read. I feel that the best way to decrease this problem is to give them education about pregnancy & sex. I think the United States have come a long with preventing pregnancy and informing teen the effects of sex but I still feel that we will always have this problem.

I agree that this has become more of a problem; especially with the younger end of our generation. It will be interesting to see if the world becomes completely digital. Afterall, we can already shop online, take classes online, and chat... and then there is what your article addresses... texting verus giving someone a call or even just chating with the person next to you instead of being on the phone.

I think it is so cool how you took the time to talk to 100 people about what their motivation for college is. it does not surprise me that 33% said they are here cause they gotta be. I think life and the process of human development should be much more about free will than abiding to norms and traditions. It is rather unfortunate that a college degree gives you more credibility and prestige in the work field, it is my feeling that experience, both life and work, should be the bigger dictators of what kind of person you are and what capabilites you have. Nice work,

This movie sounds very interesting and it also brings up the important issue of diversity. Not a lot of people are exposed to a lot of diversity here because the majority of us are from New England and there isn't that much diversity. My friend goes to school in Virigina and when she is home she always tells me how much different it is between the two. Experiencing diversity can be a culture shock but it is something we should all experience, like in this movie.

I really liked this article because I think personally I connect to it because im in that youth population that struggles with thier parents constantly yelling at them for the texting bill or constantly being on AIM. I think its important for older adults to remember that technology is growing faster than people are learning about it and conforming will be helpful rather than resisting.

Very nice. This article is a huge eye opener for many college students. As a sociology student, this certainly opens my eyes to the moral challenges many young people feel in this fast paced global society. The foreign exchange student you interviewed was definetely shocking. College is great opporunity for anymore, but it's not for everyone.

I agree with this article. I think that gender roles have changed drastically from the 1930's to today. I feel that the change in gender roles is for the better. If a woman wants to have a full-time job to support her family I think she should go out and get one. I don't think there should be anything stopping her. Same goes for men if they want to be stay at home fathers. I think gender roles will continue to change in the future.

Very good job keeping the article brief while still discussing the issues.

You mentioned letting the immigrants get work visas, which is a good idea, but it also contributes to a large percentage of the illegal immigrant that are here because they use the visa to get in, then overstay. Should there be harsher penalties for those who break that law to discourage this?

Also, what is your opinion on having immigrants learn English, should it be required, or encouraged?

Awareness of the issues at hand is only the first step in understanding a social problem. Teen pregnancy is a huge problem universally but just knowing about it is not enough, actions need to be taken to prevent it from happening. This article gave effective information about the problems we face in teen pregnancy, but also how to do something about it. The article was well written easily understood and makes you think about the issues at hand, and what you or your government can do to help solve them.

I agreed with this article as well. What is happening to teenagers these days? I think that cell phones are making teenagers anti-social. These new cell phones are giving teens the "too cool", attitude. The appropriate age for teens to get their cell phones is when they start driving so they can call for assistance when they need it.

I also agree that the stereotype is all within the media like in movies and tv. Not many people understand what Greek life is or what they do. I think that this article helps to show that Greek life isn't all about partying, it is also about gaining friendships and helping out in the community.

Great article and book choice.

I think today a lot of Americans do precieve the wall as a good thing rather than looking at all the negatives. Such as how many people are dying and how it really effects our economy. I really hope that your article inspires more people to do research about immigration and the wall.

I enjoyed reading this article. I agree with it completely. I think that there really does need to be more education about teen pregnancy. If there is more facts being let out then there will be more prevention being done.

I agree with this article. I feel like technology is getting out of control and the use of text messaging and instant messaging is at an all time high. Some students can't go threw an hour and a half class without texting and communicating with their friends.
I also agree that our generation needs to be more understanding with the frustrations of the older generations. They did not grow up with these technologies and we should appreciate all that they have learned. Because soon enough we are going to be like them, not being able to keep up with all of the new technology.

This is pretty interesting stuff. Starts out talking about how one can be informed and then quickly shifts to comparing parties and political views as if that really matters in the process of voting. I think what should be more significant is whether or not you agree with someones values rather than what party they are based from or affiliated with. Perhaps that is what you were attempting to do, clarify the sides so that people could understand what ideas were more relevant to them, but it kind of came across as showing which one was better than the other. Certainly nothing wrong with conveying your opinion I just think you should make it clear that's what you're doing from the beginning. I like the comparisons of parties because it really highlights what stereotypes people have about the parties although I don't neccessarily agree with some of them pertaining to both sides.
