There are a variety of ways to become rich in the United States. Some people who are born into unfortunate situations have exceptional motivation and can get ahead in life. Some Americans become wealthy by inventing something hugely popular. For example, Bill Gates invented Microsoft and is the head of the software company. He is one of the world’s wealthiest men. Some people choose the dangerous lifestyle of becoming a criminal in order to become rich. Some people become rich through marriage. Married people earn more and have more wealth on average than unmarried people living separately. This is understandable, because married people can split the expenses of one household and often have the advantage of two incomes. Becoming rich is highly dependent on where you start in life. One obvious way of becoming rich is inheriting money. Anyone who has rich parents or grandparents is probably going to inherit a small fortune when these relatives die. Education is one crucial factor in becoming rich. In today’s world it is hard to make enough money to survive on without going to college. Through education people are able to attain degrees in respectable professions, thus being able to climb the ladder up to success and obtain wealth.
