After reading through Scoble’s 20 principles I realized that the man knows what he is talking about because its all about cut throat type of things. You want to bury your opponent don’t ever let them get up on you and thats exactly what is said in these 20 principles. My favorite one is obviously going to be one of everyones and thats the BOGU, because it is so true, excuse me for saying this but you have to eat shit and bark at the moon before you can get somewhere, that is a famous saying that holds true for many things. The reason I’m choosing Jezebel is because I hear about the whole bilingual thing with Alycia Lane getting out of jail. Jezebel needs to live more up to those 20 principles because all this gossip stuff doesn’t work. The poor girl messed up so what lets forgive and forget, I dislike the whole idea of talking about one girl in all of this when many other people were at fault but its whatever thats life.

Nick Deonton who is one of the blogging guru’s because he owns one of the largest blogging things and one of the first to ever be put out. I think that he is correct in a lot of ways like he said that his company would never be as large as the New York times, which is right. I think that also because blogs will never get the same respect because not all the time do you know who is writing a blog, for example I could write a blog and say that I am Michael Jordan, well I’m obviously not so how would people believe that because when would Michael Jordan blog. The point is this, a newspaper who is known country wide will never be over taken, unless its by another paper. That paper in particular is one of the most renown papers known, it has publishers and authors and other people writing in it who are very well known and known to be credible as well. So as far as blogging is concerned it will never be as big as the New York times simple as that.

“Back in the 1980’s when I attended high school, reading someones diary would have been the ultimate intrusion (Kline 351, line 4-5).”  That quote sums up exactly my point of view on this whole chapter she wrote in Kline’s book. Reasoning behind it is because it is so true that today we have so much more than we did twenty years ago, its almost like we are to smart for our selves which is really weird because machines do all our things for us, but at the same time we program to do the things. Now a days we have online journals which back in her day of high school was a total secret, now blogs are like little excerpts in a journal or diary, if you think about it today our crime rates are up since we have had this much computer science. How sick is today when you can go online and buy your groceries which was created for elderly people who were by themselves or were handicapped, all I’m saying is that it is scary how far we have come with Internet but my thing is what would happen if we lost it all.

For number one I put as my three email, social networking, and video sharing. These interest me because email has become such a part of our lives that I wanted to see how it would effect the next question being what margenalized groups did I want to research the problems would be children, teens, and youth and question three asks where and I wanted to do it inside the United States. This interests me because things like email have become an every day use of communication almost like picking up a phone and talking to someone. For children/teens and youth it isn’t that much prevelant but social networking is huge. Types of social networking facebook and myspace are used every day by children, teens and youth which is like a form of email. As far as video sharing you could consider that as being part of music sharing as well which is illegal because you don’t pay for the music, its not like that with video’s but it falls on the same line.

In this day and age we don’t read or go outside to play games. This decade has become run by computers, I mean look at everything machines are the way of living for us today. When an 800 number calls you what is on the other end, its an automated machine that speaks to you about a thing. Machines have taken the world over. There is a book out that talks about when our computers crash we will die or life will die off eventually I’m not sure of the book but I remember hearing about it somewhere down the line. Email, AIM, bloging, and text messaging have become such a part of life now, if kids didn’t have AIM or texting what would they do with themselves. If adults didn’t have email how would they communicate, and blogging what would those people do. My point is that without all of these things the world would not be able to go around. There aren’t kids going outside and playing baseball or playing in the snow or rain we have kids that play video games on the computer or their video game consoles which is fine but where is the moral.

I truly believe that in Kline’s first key it is all true. Our media is tons of things rapped into one making it the most sought after thing in the world. Media to me is like the computer, phone, and cable. All of this is used in our daily lives because it is a means of communication of some sort. Blogging is a form of communication, and it is becoming more and more prevelant in our every day world and lives. When you blog, it is usually on a topic that means something to you or your responding to a topic that someone has posted to respond to. Blogging all branched off when AIM a means of communication other than email and it has to deal with talking to friends and others through chatting. Like a blog you are typing in a window that allows you to ask questions and state things. Fact is, is that the world is becoming more and more ran by computers now whether that is good or bad no one can tell for now but it would definately be bad if anything that ever happened to our worlds computers.

I looked up TiVo which is a recording device that obviously records things but it is quite special and interesting. The thing about it is that it records television shows and movies that are on television. I personally like the product because if I miss a game of some sort I can then look it up prior to the event and have the TiVo record it, then when I have a free moment to watch it I can. For example I missed the dunk contest for the NBA a few years ago so I recorded it then later that night I was able to go back and watch it. I found this in Kline’s book on page 114. What I found about TiVo is what I already told you, to further that though when I looked on the website (http://www.tivo.com/whatistivo/index.html) I found out some other things like how successful it has become and how helpful it is. I find it very interesting becasue it makes people who aren’t able to catch their favorite shows a chance to view them when they aren’t so busy. Now a days in America we have so many things we need to do, people have kids who have games and other events and can’t always be home to watch their favorite show, so TiVo makes it simple and affordable to have that oppertunity.

Our economy is going to hell in a sense because our presidents and other representatives aren’t doing their job. Simply we need to use our heads when it comes to things. The media may or may not make things worse but they just simply inform us of the general idea of what is going on.  In Kline’s book he talks about media and the economy, I believe that everything that I have read so far that he is telling simply the truth making it seem effortlessly our country is blowing away every chance we have to become very wealthy. War is not needed unless it really is, in terms that someone could understand is something like maybe if we would fight for simple things like when our country is being threatened then we would be fine. Instead we go over to look for weapons of mass derstruction that mean absolutely nothing to us because we have them.

This is my first blog post ever. I play baseball here at KSC
