Greetings from Owls’ Nest/Butler Complex!
It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you to the ON/BU Community! I hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer and taking a well-deserved break before you come to campus this Fall. My name is Jennifer Spade and I will be your Residence Director. This is my second year back at Keene State College. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Sociology from KSC in 2005 and I am now working on my MBA at Plymouth State University. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and I am eager to meet all of you and to make ON/BU a fun and lively place to live.
A total of 434 residents live in the nine Owls Nests. Seven are co-ed and two house only female residents. A typical Nest double room includes closets or wardrobes, movable furniture, one entrance light (desk lamps are recommended), and 5 double outlets. First floor rooms are not carpeted; second and third floor rooms are carpeted.
One of our newest residence halls, One Butler Court hosts 216 co-ed students in six, eight and ten-person suites. Each suite contains carpeted single and double rooms, all with built-in closets and moveable furnishings. Suites also contain a kitchen area (microwave but no stove or refrigerator). A large lobby and fully equipped kitchen provides a nice setting for students to relax in, as does the game room.
The RAs and I will be planning programs and events to help build a strong community among ON/BU residents. It will be up to you, however, to make the year a successful one and take advantage of the opportunities presented to you. I encourage you to share ideas and suggestions for programs and activities with your RA or myself when you return to campus. We hope to make ON/BU the best community on campus and with your help, I know this is possible!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at (603) 358-8998 or email me at jspade@keene.edu Have a great rest of the summer! See you soon.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Spade
