KSC Students Compete in EPA Competition
On April 20, a team of KSC students gave a presentation about the Monadnock Biodiesel Collaborative, a research and educational model for waste grease recycling and emissions research, at the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) People, Prosperity, and the Planet (P3) Student Design Competition for Sustainability in Washington, D.C.

The six-member team, which includes students from the Technology, Design, and Safety and Architecture departments, is competing against universities such as Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. On Earth Day, six finalist teams will receive EPA’s P3 Award as part of the fourth annual National Sustainable Design Expo on the National Mall.

In an earlier contest, the KSC team was one of 58 chosen from 100 entries from 29 states across the country. Each placing team received $10,000 to prepare for this final competition.
