Physics Minor

RATIONALE:
This change is being made in the physics minor program to encourage students in related fields (e.g. Mathematics, Chemistry) to consider completing a physics minor. The courses added
to the list of choices come from outside the field of physics and contain a significant amount of
upper level material from the field of physics.

PHYS 201 PHENOMENAL SCIENCE

RATIONALE:
PHYS 201 (Phenomenal Science) is being converted to INPHYS 201.

INPHYS 201 PHENOMENAL SCIENCE

RATIONALE:
Rather than continue the duplication between this course and Physics 100 (Inquiry into Physics) we have decided to drop Phys 100 (an Integrative Studies Course) and apply for Integrative Studies designation for Phys 201 since it is a required course for the General Science Program and Phys 100 is not required for any specific program

INPHYS 100 Inquiry Into Physics

RATIONALE:
The topical material and the format is essentially the same as presented in Physics 201 Phenomenal Science. Physics 201 is also being converted to INPHYS 201 (see additional proposal). Rather than continue this duplication we will merely offer two sections of INPHYS 201 in the future.
