Cross listing of courses that arise from two or more disciplines is cumbersome and could create issues for students regarding repeating courses under the Forgiveness Policy.

II ENG 245: READINGS IN AFRICAN-AMERICAN LITERATURE AND CULTURE
This course provides an important contribution to teaching Diversity in our Integrative Studies program. Under the previous catalog, a course with this content was available only in upper-level courses for English majors. With this course addition, both majors and non-majors can be introduced to this field.
II 302 Mercury: Power, Poison & Privilege
The faculty members proposing this course are both members of the Keene State College Integrative Studies Program Committee and are enthusiastic about developing new pedagogies that reach across their respective disciplinary boundaries. As noted under the course objectives above: this experimental course will seek to engage students in a challenging learning environment that will develop the skills necessary to effectively participate as a member of society when faced with complex multi-disciplinary challenges. The course is proposed as an upper-level interdisciplinary course as it will require foundational skills expected of all advanced students and will seek to develop deeper multi-disciplinary learning and advanced individual skills for all participants.
ECON 310 Game Theory
A proposal has been submitted to the ISP Committee to convert this course into IIECON 310 (Game Theory). With the acceptance of the ISP course, this course will no longer be offered.
INBIO 300 ADVANCED TOPICS IN BIOLOGY
This course will provide students with an upper-level perspectives course for the Integrative Studies program. Learning outcomes for the course are consistent with Perspectives courses in the IS program and emphasize a more in depth analytical approach then INBIO 101 or INBIO 104 by including critical dialogue, the impact of biology on an understanding of self, society and environment, and the exploration of ethical concerns.
INBIO 104 Lab Biology Topics
We are shifting our previously existing topics course to be suitable for the Integrative Studies program. INBIO 104 will replace the previously existing BIO 104. Learning outcomes are consistent with expectations for Perspectives courses in the IS program.
INBIO 101 Topics in Biology
An exploration of biological issues and methods for non majors. Applying basic principles to modern problems, the course may focus on a theme such as evolution and conservation of biodiversity, plants and society, or ecology and environmental issues. Can be repeated for elective credit but not ISP credit as topics change.
BIO 106 The Evolution of Life
This course can be taught as an INBIO topics course. There is no need for a separate course number and description for the class. It can now be part of the IS program. This course was proposed while the bio dept. was undergoing its 4 credit and ISP changes. While the course description implies that the course was for education majors, it could have been taken by any student. In reality, it has never been offered. Any INBIO topics course may be taken by education students or any other non-bio majors. There is no reason for a specific advisory opinion from Education.
BIO 101 and 104 Course Deletions
We are shifting our previously existing topics course to be suitable for the
Integrative Studies program. These courses are being replaced by INBIO
101 and INBIO 104.
AMST 250 Interpreting American Culture
This course will be replaced by II AMST 250 Interpreting American Cultures in
response to the call for courses for the ISP.
