AT THE NORMAL SCHOOL
Seniors Give Reception to Students
Who Have Just Entered

A very pleasant and successful party took place Tuesday evening at the normal school, from 8 to 11, when the senior class of the school gave a reception and entertainment to the members of the new class which entered the institution a few days ago. The members of the faculty and the teachers in the model schools were also present, making the party a large one, there being about fifty students in the two classes alone.

In preparation for the reception the seniors had gathered a quantity of bright autumn foliage and late flowers, which were arranged in the different rooms with a good deal of taste, giving a bright and cheerful appearance to the halls, library and reception room. During the first part of the evening the new students were received and introduced to all the teachers and upper class members and there was a general social hour devoted to a better acquaintance and the promotion of a home-like feeling among all connected with the school.

The seniors also provided nice refreshments for the evening. Tables sufficient to accommodate all were set in the library and decorated with autumn leaves, flowers and candelabra, the groups of candles lighting the room brightly and adding very much to the attractiveness of the tables. Delicious sandwiches in variety, ice cream, cakes, coffee and other delicacies were provided in abundance.

Later in the evening the entire company gathered in the large school hall upstairs and had a good time for an hour or two. Singing and dancing were among the amusements and the girls enjoyed themselves thoroughly until shortly after eleven.
