Your 1960s TIME AND AGAIN missed the link between the change of status to Keene State College and the march on Concord.
As a marcher, I can attest that our motivation to complete the 54 mile walk to the Governor and legislators was the poor stepsister treatment of our faculty, library, and facilities as well as the lack of acknowledgement of the high academic status our College.
What students were later proud to report was not the blisters but the positive changes produced by our student advocacy for resource support for the academic excellence of our College.

My husband, Alan, and I got a laugh at seeing our photo sitting in my dorm room in 1966 in the article, Time and Again. The times were not changing as fast as you think. Men were not allowed to come to a girl’s room during all the time we were at Keene, and we both graduated in 1967. This photo was taken during a special Open House in all the dorms.
We are now curious as to when that policy really changed.
