Happy Halloween!

1169481753_3

We got this amazing pic from an alumna way back in June, but now we can’t find her original e-mail, and therefore can’t give her photo credit or identify who these guys who want to rock and roll all nite and party every day are. If it’s you, please let us know so we can fix that.

No fool like an April Fool

We admit it, we thought about trying to play some huge trick where we tried to fool you into thinking that pictures that aren’t of Keene really are. And that might have been hilarious, but really, where’s the challenge?

Instead, this time, we’re posting an array of pics. Can you guess which ones are from KNS/KTC/KSC, and which are from other colleges?

Leave your guesses in the comments.

1981-82

Not entirely sure what’s going on in this picture, but no good can come of this.

1987-88

A still from the cult classic Attack of the Zombie Owls?

1987-88

For you younger folks: No, those glasses weren’t especially big by 1988 standards.

And that thing she’s holding? Is a pay telephone. Before we had phones in our pockets, there were landlines placed at strategic locations that you could put a dime in, and call people. Yes, we know there’s no keypad. That’s called a rotary dial, and… oh, never mind.

1987

Charles Hildebrandt

We were sad to hear this week that Dr. Charles Hildebrandt, Sociology professor emeritus and founder of what is now the Cohen Center for Holocaust Studies, died Tuesday morning. He taught at Keene from the late 1960s until his retirement in 1998.

There will be a memorial at the college Nov. 3 at 4 p.m., plus there’s an online memorial here, at the Cohen Center’s website. Please visit it and add your own memories of this remarkable man.

The Sentinel also did a story, and there’s one in the Equinox as well.

1988-89

The Pub Club, relatively sedate.

For those of you who are interested, there’s an interesting look back at the Pub Club in this week’s Equinox (the student paper).

1980-81

Happy move-in weekend!

1987-88

Grandmother, what big eyes you have!
