I just graduated with a B.S in Health Science with an option in Nutrition. I absolutely loved the HLSC program at KSC! The class size was perfect and the professors really care about you…they push you to do the best you can! The professors are great people coming from many different backgrounds. I met some great friends while in the program as well.
This is a great field to be in because the nation, and world for that matter, needs health professionals who really care.
After graduation I landed a job as a Personal Trainer at Equinox in New York City where I have combined my two passions, nutrition and exercise. I am teaching people about health and their bodies everyday!
The HLSC program allowed me to learn about my body and how to teach others about their own! Yay KSC HLSC program!
My experience at Keene State was exceptional! I had attended two colleges prior to my transfer to Keene State and I have only positive things to say about both my classes, professors, and class mates. The Health Science department for Nutrition is a unique yet versitile program where you will feel like family. The professors want you to learn and they do what it takes to make sure you are on the right track and understand the material that is being covered. Unlike large Universities, Keene State’s Health Science program enhances ones professional skills in so many ways and I highly recommend it.
Where am I know: I took a year off to work and gain experience in the field as a Food Service Director before applying for internships. But I am now currently completing my Dietetic Internship in Florida. It has been a great experience so far but have a long, hard working, yet exciting 10 months ahead of me.
I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from KSC HLSC program. I think this program offers a unique perspective by providing practical work experience. Getting out into the field provided great insight as to the various areas of employment in the Nutrition field. The professors are friendly, approachable, and genuinely care about their students. As a Community Nutritionist, I feel confident in my knowledge gained at KSC, thus allowing me to communicate effectively with the public in regards to nutrition education. I highly recommend this program to anyone with an interest in Health Science and Nutrition. -Halley Rust, class 08′
