Well its hard to believe that the end of September is right around the corner. Student gov is in full swing and we are dealing with some very big issues currently. One of our biggest is taking place next Wednesday September 30. That evening we will be hosting a forum/debate regarding lowering the drinking age. It is a very controversial topic and I think it will be great to hear what students and community members have to say about it. Along with the VP for student affairs, we have ivited John McCartle to come speak in favor of lowering the drinking age as he is the one who has been the momentum behind the movement. I invite everyone to come to this great event as I am sure it will be great! See you there.

As of 8:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday April 29th, I was officially elected Student Assembly Chair. I couldn’t be happier. Already the new Student Body President (Dan Saucier) and I are planning great things for the 2008/2009 academic school year. Our hope is to really connect with students better than we have in the past. It being the centennial year as well, we hope to make it a special one. My hope with the blog is to have a place for students, faculty and administration to see what we are working on. I personally have a few things that I would really like to spearhead during the fall semester. Topics that have been brought up time and time again to the student assembly and have never been completed. Dan and myself have a singular goal… to work together and to bring the president and chair positions funcitoning as one, making sure that student government as a whole is effectively working in the same direction. I welcome comments and I look forward to posting news over the next year!
