He also served in several administrative roles, including Assistant to the President early in his tenure. Dr. Klaus Bayr

Dr. Klaus Bayr

Klaus came to Keene State in 1969 and retired in 2008. His fields of expertise were physical geography, remote sensing and cartography. He studied the Pasterze Glacier in Austria for many years through satellite imagery and on the ground and still continuous to monitor the recession of it.

His travels took him to many countries on all continents except the Antarctica. He still likes to explore foreign places.

During his tenure at KSC he published with his students school atlases for New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Since he retired he published the school atlas of the state of New York and the Maine atlas is in the planning stage (http://keeneweb.org/schoolatlas/).

In his spare time he helps out with the Keene High School X-C ski team as an assistant coach and likes to sail in the summertime.
