All of the November programs and duty information is now up so go and take a look!

Many of you might have noticed that the chair which is normally at the front desk in Pondside 3 has gone missing! For the time being we have a replacement chair but we still need to have the old one returned. If anyone knows where the chair is and is able to return it to the front desk we would be very grateful and there will be no questions asked (we just want to have it back). If you have any questions please contact Nate at ngordon@keene.edu

Thank you to everyone that participated in Hall Council’s Halloween Extravaganza last night. We had quite a few rooms participate in the Door Decorating Contest and I wanted to pass along the results.

Best Overall - Pondside 3, 112

Scariest - Pondside 3, 207

Most Creative - Pondside 3, 212

Stay tuned for more exciting Hall Council events in the future!

Come to the East Halls

 Halloween Party!!!

October 15, 2008 at 7pm on the

Bushnell Quad

Sponsored by the East Halls

 HallCouncil

Come join us for popcorn, apple cider, s’mores, bobbing for doughnuts and to watch Hocus Pocus!

Also… decorate your door to follow the theme of Halloween before the party begins. There will be a prize for the best decorated door in East Halls.

(If it is too cold or rainy, all festivities will be in the Pondside 3 lobby)

Please Remember to Recycle!

REDUCE -> REUSE -> RECYCLE

Containers:
Mixed (or co-mingled) containers including tin, aluminum, plastic food containers (#1 - 7) and glass bottles and jars should have the lids removed, be emptied of liquids and rinsed.

Paper:
Mixed paper includes white and colored papers, softcover books, newspapers & boxboard (cereal, tissue, cracker boxes, etc.).

Are pizza boxes recyclable?

Only if they have no grease or cheese on them. If they are not clean, throw them in the dumpster.

Cardboard:

The stuff with the wavy layer between two flat layers - is placed separately. Pizza boxes must be free of food residue, otherwise they should be discarded.

Batteries:
Batteries should be placed in the labeled white buckets located in most recycling areas.

Re-Use Room:

There is a Re-Use room in the basement of Elliot Hall. This is a great place to put or find still useable materials like books, 3-ring binders, paper, envelopes, file folders, etc.

Please check out: http://www.keene.edu/rocks/ for more information about recycling on the KSC Campus.

You may also e-mail any comments, ideas, suggestions to Dasha Bushmakin, an Eco-Rep for Greek Life and PIII, dbushmakin@ksc.mailcruiser.com

Thanks!

The October Programs and October duty schedule have been posted. Take a look so that you can know what is happening in East Halls this month.

Unfortunately due to lack of interest the weekly challenge has been suspended indefinately. If there are other fun things that you would like to see on the blog let us know and we will see if we can give it a try.

The votes have been counted and the air conditioning in Pondside 3 will be shut off on Friday, October 24th.

I want to thank everyone who voted as we had almost 100% of the hall participate in this process. In case you’re wondering, you can see how many people voted for each date by looking below.

9/26 - 21 Votes

10/3 - 10 Votes

10/10 - 23 Votes

10/17 - 15 Votes

10/24 - 44 Votes

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Were you aware that this weekend coming up is Parent and Family weekend? If not check out the link below to learn all about it and then go and invite your parents and family up for a great time.

And remember, your parents could show up unannounced so keep that room clean ;-)

It is that time of year again where the Pondside 3 residents need to vote on when they would like the air conditioning switched over to heat. The RAs will be coming around with a ballot that has the proposed shut off dates. Please mark one of the dates that you would like to see the AC shut off and either return it to me or put it in the envelope outside of my office. The ballots will be due on Friday.

Thanks
