HW3: political blogs..the new alternative to the media?

After reading David Kline’s “Toward a More Participatory Democracy” I have a much better understanding of how popular political blogs are. This essay starts off with two different bloggers opposing views on power issues in America. In discussions of political blog impact, one controversial issue has been whether or not people of America are impacted by political blogs. On one hand, people argue that people read the blogs, but they have no impact on their political standing. On the other hand, people argue that people read the blog more than they read newspapers and/or watch the news (there are statistics to back this up). My own view is that this issue is shocking, but true. “The truth is that many people don’t necessarily trust what they read in the papers or see on television anymore…” I agree with this statement and I think that more people are now interested in seeing what other Americans think as opposed to the news or the newspapers. As time goes on, and especially with the upcoming election, I think that political blogging is going to spread and become even more popular..people of America are looking for a new way to educate themselves about the political world.
