Plans for the 2008-2009 Academic Year include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize the student learning events book-ending the semester - the Academic Technology/Instructional Technology Summit kick-off event (August 19, 2008) and the Student Learning Retreat (December 17, 2008)
  • Support the Engaged Department Initiative which includes the Engaged Learning Workshop scheduled for September 12, 2008
  • Lead investigation of alternate course delivery methods
  • Organize KSC Teaching Excellence week in early April 2009
  • Coordinate orientation for new tenure-track faculty and new adjunct faculty
  • Lead College’s implementation of TracDat, software supporting assessment, planning, and accreditation efforts
  • Make student evaluation summary data available electronically and refine the evaluation contents through various feedback methods including survey and open forums

Lead Academic Technology Projects including: 

  • ePortfolio - Support an ePortfolio system implementation addressing Education’s accreditation needs; PGS school-wide evaluation of ePortfolio to assess suitability in meeting individual department needs
  • Rhodes Hall and Education Lab renovations - In partnership with the IT Group coordinate efforts to transform the existing labs into spaces that support engaged learning opportunities and transformative teaching
  • Development of Interactive KSC Website (Mashup) - Creation of a dynamic website using text and visuals to highlight the use of technology and innovative curricular design and delivery across the KSC campus
  • ISP Skills Development and Support - Identify and evaluate available technologies and pedagogical techniques to support student skill development
