Your students will love it...even more!

Did you know that your students can use their cell phones to request text message alerts right from the laundry room? To help promote this free upgrade from LaundryView, we’ve created a downloadable email template you can use.

The email template can easily be forwarded to your residents to educate them about LaundryView and “Text Me” Alerts. The email will direct students to a newly created FAQ section on the LaundryView site, which will allow them to familiarize themselves with the many features and benefits of LaundryView.

We hope you find this email to be a useful tool in promoting “Text Me” Alerts to your students, as well as a means to help students utilize the LaundryView system to the fullest. We look forward to our continued partnership.

Sincerely,
The LaundryView Team

Campus Safety has received reports that several individuals have been in and around the residence halls selling magazine subscriptions for a company called Ice Publications. They have been “selling” subscriptions for popular magazines and accepting only cash payments.  In some cases, they have escorted students to an ATM to get cash for these subscriptions. They have also offered to purchase alcohol for underage students.

To date, we have descriptions of two individuals:

#1:   male, early twenties, 6’2”, blonde hair, earrings in both ears, goes by John Stevenson

            #2:   male, early twenties, curly hair, stated he is from Miami

These individuals ARE NOT authorized to be in any Keene State College building and have not registered with the City of Keene to obtain a vendor permit.

Magazine sales scams have become increasingly more common because they are a cash based operation.  Legitimate salespeople will have city permits and permission from the College (the college DOES NOT authorize door-to-door sales).

If you are approached by any individual selling goods or services on campus;

Ø    DO NOT purchase any item, subscription, service, etc.

Ø    Report the incident to your RA, RD, Campus Safety (358-2228) or Keene Police Department (357-9813) immediately.

Ø    Provide a full description of the individual and a direction of travel, if possible.

If you are approached by any individual selling goods or services at your off campus apartment and the purchase is more than $25, you’re protected under the Federal Trade Commission’s Cooling-Off Rule which gives you three days to cancel your order and receive a full refund. The seller must tell you that you have a right to cancel, and give you a summary of your cancellation rights and two copies of the cancellation form. Ask to see the required cancellation notice before you agree to buy. If the salesperson doesn’t have it, don’t place an order. The company is breaking the law.

If you have any questions or concerns or any information which may be of assistance to us, please call 603-358-2228.

Thank You
