Faculty, Staff, Friends Raise $150K for Student Financial Aid

From Genny Alexander, Development: As the fiscal year winds down, I want to extend a huge thank you to the Keene State community for your generosity over the past year. This year, 148 faculty and staff members have given a total of $45,636.76 to various areas and programs at the College. We are so thankful for all the time, talent, and financial gifts you have given!

Part of the campus’ generosity has been to the Student Financial Aid Initiative. Last month we learned that a large portion of our students will find it difficult to return to campus next year because of financial strain. We asked alumni, friends, and the campus community to consider a gift to this emergency fund, with a fundraising goal of $100,000.

The great news is that gifts and confirmed pledges top $150,000; the bad news is that every day additional appeals flood into the financial aid office. So while the initial goal was met, more aid is needed.

Please consider giving a one-time gift to the Student Financial Aid Initiative. Your gift may be made online, or a check may be sent to the Development Office, Mailstop 2701. Any amount will help – gifts received from the campus community have ranged from $5 to $250 – and every donation will go directly to help a student in need.

Once again, thank you for your generosity this year!

The KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign – You MADE the difference!

From Genny Alexander, Development: Thank you to the 132 faculty and staff members who so generously made a gift to Keene State College this fiscal year. The $43,000 you gave in gifts and pledges will truly make an impact on the students and programs at KSC.

Once again, thank you for your continued hard work, dedication, and generosity to Keene State College!

The KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign – You Can Make the Difference!

From Genny Alexander, Development: Thank you to everyone who has made a gift this spring to the KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign! Students across campus are benefiting from your generosity. Gifts have been made to the Alumni Unrestricted Fund, the OS Dependent Scholarship Endowment, Athletics, Mason Library, and many other areas on campus. Thank you! We are wrapping up the campaign next week, and there is still time to make a gift or pledge. You may make your gift online or fill out a payroll deduction form and return it to Mail Stop 2701.

Wednesday, April 29, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., there will be a thank-you breakfast at the Student Center for all faculty and staff who have generously made a gift to KSC this fiscal year. There will also be an opportunity for those who have not made a gift to do so at the breakfast. If you plan to attend the breakfast, please RSVP to Amy Proctor at 8-2372 or aproctor@keene.edu. Once again, thank you for your continued hard work, dedication, and generosity to Keene State College!

The KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign – You Can Make the Difference!

From Genny Alexander, Development: A huge thank you to all of you who have participated in the KSC Fund Faculty/Staff Campaign! For the 2008–2009 academic year, staff and faculty members have made pledges and gifts, both large and small, totaling over $40,000.

There is still time to make a gift or pledge! You may make your gift online or fill out a payroll deduction form and return it to Mail Stop 2701.

Please save the date: on Wednesday, April 29, from 7:30–9 a.m., there will be a thank-you breakfast at the Student Center for all faculty and staff who have generously made a gift to KSC this fiscal year. There will also be an opportunity for those who have not made a gift to do so at the breakfast. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Amy Proctor at 8-2372 or aproctor@keene.edu.

Once again, thank you for your continued hard work, dedication, and generosity to Keene State College!

The KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign – You can make the difference!

From Genny Alexander, Development: Thank you to everyone who has made a gift to the KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign! It is wonderful to see such an enthusiastic response to this year’s appeal – especially since KSC employees already give so much of their time and talent to the students on the campus. There is still time to make a gift to the campaign. You may fill out a payroll deduction form or make your gift online.

On Wednesday, April 29, from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Student Center, there will be a thank-you breakfast to celebrate the success of the Faculty and Staff Campaign. All employees who have made a gift to Keene State College this fiscal year are invited to attend – those who have not yet made a gift may do so at this event. If you have any questions, please contact Genny Alexander at 8-2304 or galexander@keene.edu.

The KSC Faculty and Staff Campaign — You Can Make the Difference!

From Genny Alexander, Development: As faculty and staff, you are part of our KSC tradition of preparing graduates to lead, shape, and change our world. You motivate students to seek the good in all and to choose to make a difference.

There are many other ways you can make a difference in the lives of students at Keene State!

A gift to the Unrestricted Fund will designate your donation to the area most in need on campus. With costs of college rising, and the availability of student aid sources becoming scarce, a gift to the Unrestricted Fund will truly make a difference in the lives of students on campus.

Another popular fund that many staff and faculty have given to is the Operating Staff Dependent Scholarship Endowment. The balance of this fund is currently $11,169.78. To begin awarding students this scholarship, the Endowment needs to be at $20,000. A gift to this fund will also make a difference in the lives of students (and your co-workers!) on campus.

Tim Garland, President of the OS Council and an electrician on campus, has designated his payroll deduction gift to the Operating Staff Dependent Scholarship Endowment. He sees this fund as a way to directly help those who work at KSC and their dependents, and will give his co-workers’ children a better shot at attending college. Tim feels it is important to contribute to the greater community and give back to a place that provides all of us so many opportunities and interactions with a diverse group of people.

No amount is too small to make a difference. Participation in the campaign demonstrates our commitment to our students and to the College, and each gift adds on to others to have a real impact on the College and our students. Our goal, of course, is to encourage 100% of our colleagues to support Keene State through an annual gift. Throughout March and April you will receive emails and updates on the campaign.

Together we make a difference to the future of Keene State College! Thank you for your gifts and for everything you do for our students!
