Stop Pisgah Invaders!

Train to survey invasive plants.

Hike to protect Pisgah State Park.

Sunday, June 7!

Beginning last Autumn, AVEO Volunteers began to survey trails and roads throughout Pisgah State Park for the presence or absence of select invasive plant species. You can get the report here.

Now we have begun to complete more segments of the survey, and invite you to join us. All it takes is becoming familiar with our survey method and a small set of easily recognizable plants, and taking a hike through the wildest park of our region. Help the effort to control invasive plants and contribute to a management plan that considers how to prevent them from getting started.

The next training will be held Sunday, June 7 from 1 - 4 pm.  We’ll begin indoors at the Keene State College Science Center, then move outside for invasive plant identification at Ashuelot River Park.   Training is free, but we need your registration. To register, send an email to moon@aveo.org or leave your contact information at (603) 358-2069.

If you trained last fall, contact us and we’ll get you going on a new trail segment ASAP!

This project is generously supported by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
