On Sunday, November 1st the Admissions Office hosted the annual campus wide Open House. Over 1200 visitors got to tour our beautiful campus, meet with faculty members, learn more about our wonderful programs and talk with students support offices. It was a great day and a chance for us, the admissions office, to meet many prospective students. Thanks for visiting us! If you did not have a chance to attend Open House there are still plenty of opportunities to visit our campus. Just visit our website to see the tour dates and times. We look forward to meeting you!

Yesterday the admissions office took part in the yearly tradition of helping the first-year students move into their residence halls. I can’t begin to tell you how much we all love this Keene State College tradition. If you are not familiar with “move in day” it is a day devoted entirely to assisting first-year students into their residence halls. We, faculty, staff and students, all volunteer to direct traffic, unload cars and, in some cases, take belongings to the students room. I know many families are extremely grateful, and often surprised, by this warm and friendly welcome to the KSC community. Yesterday also kicked off the first day of first-year orientation. Yahoo; let the journey begin… WELCOME CLASS OF 2013!
Congratulations to the class of 2009.
Graduation is this Sunday and it is hard to believe another academic year is over. Now we will begin to get ready for the incoming 1st year students. Yahoo!
Last Wednesday, April 15 , was a very exciting day on campus (and no it had nothing to do with taxes). This was Keene State College’s 100th Birthday Celebration! The day included a relay from Concord to Keene and concluded with a huge celebration complete with fireworks and cake. I cannot begin to tell you about the energy and excitement that was felt that evening! Everyone had a great time!
I posted some photos I took of the event. Keep in mind they are very amateur. For more highlights on the days events and to see some fabulous photos (including some of our staff) please visit the Centennial Blog here. Enjoy!

Appian Way at the start of the celebration!

The KSC Owl greeting guests and keeping us entertained.

The cake was HUGE and delicious!

I can’t believe it is the middle of March (although it still feels like the middle of January; as Kristin said “where are you Spring?” I too am ready for flip flops) The campus is alive once again as all students returned from Spring Break on Sunday. I hope some of the students brought back warmth and sun! The admissions office has been busy cleaning up files, making decisions and preparing for another Admitted Student Day. My apologizes to all who went to sign up for an Admitted Student Day but found them to be all full. Please know that we make every effort to add as many people as we can to these programs without compromising space on campus. If you have not had a chance to visit campus, or you want to return to campus for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th.. time you still can sign up for one of our Senior only days. Our tours will run until the end of April and restart up in June. We can’t wait to meet you!
This time of year is full of excitement and energy and I like to refer to it as the “final countdown”. For us in admissions its nearing the end of reading season and starting Spring Travel. For our seniors on campus it is the final countdown to finals and graduation (May 9). For our accepted seniors in high school it is the final countdown to graduation and moving in to the residence hall (August 19). Remember too that our accepted students only have a few weeks before the May 1st deadline. Be sure to get the deposit to our office by May 1st to confirm your spot in the class of 2013. It is a thrilling time for everyone! Its the end of chapter for some and the start of a new one for many. We are happy to be a part of it all! GO OWLS!!!!!!!
